But, as with any enterprise-wide effort, buy-in at the executive level is critical, says Raymond Holcomb, president and managing director at 1st Watch Global, whose services include crisis management and emergency response, and business continuity of operations planning.
This might include hospital administrators (doctors and nurses), hospital security (either in-house or third-party), human services, mechanical/plant/facilities personnel, media and/or public relations, and hospital IT, for instance.
Educating this group — whoever it includes — can be done via tabletop exercises with selected staff and first responders, in-house e-learning platforms, in-service training days for workforce management or silent drills, for example.”
